Today is Christmas Eve and I want to wish everyone a very
merry Christmas however I also want to us to use this morning to reflect on the
true meaning of Christmas.
For some of us Christmas means spending time with family,
buying gifts, receiving gifts and Christmas lights however there are some who are
quite sorrowful because they have no families or loved ones to share it with
Yet Christmas means so much more and should be a time of joy
for all because it is a time when Christians celebrate the birth of Christ. It
is a time when we should reflect on the birth of Christ and what He has done
for this world.
The Bible tells us in John 3:16 that God so loved the world,
that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not
perish, but have everlasting life. It also tells us that through Christ we can
have peace that passes all understanding.
So today let us prepare our hearts to receive a King, let’s
prepare our hearts to receive peace and joy and love and importantly too let us
share this joy, peace and love others who might be sorrowful.
Invite someone who does not have a family over to have
dinner with you. Give a gift to a child who did not have any today. Spend
quality time with family and let them know how much you love them

Father God I thank you for sending your son in this world so
that we might have joy, peace, love and salvation. Lord we also pray that you
will help us to share with everyone this love and peace that you have given to us.
