Clogged Drain

Today’s Scripture: Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever. Psalms 118:1 (NIV)

Song To Meditate on: Grateful - Hezekiah Walker & LFC (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DQy71bBnMbw)

A friend of mine was sharing with me recently how upset she was about her drain at home because it was clogged. This was inconvenient because she was unable to cook or have a shower. She complained bitterly about her inconvenience because it messed up her plans for the Christmas holidays. The first morning back to work, she was still complaining because she was not able to have her usually nice shower.

While on the bus she met a young man who was mentally disabled; he was unable to speak properly. Despite his disabilities however, he walked up to her and exclaimed brightly, as best as he could;

“Good morning mam and how are you?”

“Good morning, she answered, I am ok and how are you?”

“He answered brightly; I am blessed and highly favoured because I have life.”

The young man went on to have a very positive conversation with her for the rest of the journey.
My friend told me that she felt very bad because here she was being so upset because of a minor inconvenience however, here was this young man who was hardly able to speak and did not even have a job yet he was able to appreciate life for what it is.

The moral of this story is that we should remain positive and grateful in spite of what we are going through. My friend went further to tell that because her drain was clogged her daughter invited her for breakfast Christmas morning and she had dinner with close friends and family. She even had dinner to serve her for several days and best of all she was not as tired since this year she did no work at all. My friend wasn’t able to reflect on all these good things until she met this young man.

How often do we allow the little problems in our lives to prevent us from seeing the many blessings that God has given to us? This morning ladies focus on your blessings instead of magnifying your problems.  Focusing on your problems will cause you to worry and become unhappy. Instead of complaining let God know how grateful you are for all the things that he has done. Let the issues that flow from your heart today be gratefulness.

Have A God Filled Day Ladies

Let’s Pray

Mighty God, please forgive for the many times that we have complained or have been ungrateful. We just want to take time out this morning to thank you for all we have.
In Jesus Name

Amen

Merry Christmas

The True Meaning of Christmas

Song To Meditate on:  Joy To The World - Mariah Carey (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uzb8QseZd2s)

Today is Christmas Eve and I want to wish everyone a very merry Christmas however I also want to us to use this morning to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas.

For some of us Christmas means spending time with family, buying gifts, receiving gifts and  Christmas lights however there are some who are quite sorrowful because they have no families or loved ones to share it with
Yet Christmas means so much more and should be a time of joy for all because it is a time when Christians celebrate the birth of Christ. It is a time when we should reflect on the birth of Christ and what He has done for this world.

The Bible tells us in John 3:16 that God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. It also tells us that through Christ we can have peace that passes all understanding.

So today let us prepare our hearts to receive a King, let’s prepare our hearts to receive peace and joy and love and importantly too let us share this joy, peace and love others who might be sorrowful.
Invite someone who does not have a family over to have dinner with you. Give a gift to a child who did not have any today. Spend quality time with family and let them know how much you love them

Have a Very Merry Christmas Everybody

Let’s Pray

Father God I thank you for sending your son in this world so that we might have joy, peace, love and salvation. Lord we also pray that you will help us to share with everyone this love and peace that you have given to us.
In Jesus Name

Amen

I’ll be There

Main Scripture: I was senseless and ignorant; I was a brute beast before you. Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory. Psalms 73:22-24

Worship Song to Meditate On: God is Always There – Susan Best (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SiSQsy_Q294)

Have you ever had a friend who you can call on no matter what situation your in? Isn’t that just an awesome feeling knowing that the person is always available to you? In today’s scripture the psalmist experienced that with God. He understood that God did not leave him although he behaved in a stupid and ignorant manner

Often times we find ourselves in a situation where we feel so alone because we have no one we can call on. However, let me reassure you ladies that God will be there for you. David ask in Psalms 139:7-10 David asked

Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,
10 even there your hand will guide me,

Therefore ladies there is no need to fear because God is always with us. I also want to encourage you however to be there for someone especially in this season. Emulate God and spread the Christmas spirit by being there for someone who needs you.

Let’s Pray,
Mighty God we thank you today for not leaving us despite how we are. We ask you today to help us to be like you by being there for someone else.
In Jesus Name

 Amen

Open Our Eyes Lord

Today’s Scripture: And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.2 Kings 6:17

Song To Meditate on: Open the eyes of my heart (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wutmEjdbedE)

In today’s scripture the king of Aram was at war with God’s people in Israel. Each time the Arameans set up a place to attack, God would tell Elisha who would then tell the King of Israel. They would go a different way and avoid trouble. After many times of avoiding an attack, the king of Aram decided that someone in his army was telling his secrets to the king of Israel.  His army told him that no one in the army was sharing secrets. They explained that Elisha was telling the king of Israel what was going on. They knew that he was a man from God.  When the king heard this, he sent out a large group of army soldiers to find him. They found him in the city of Dothan. The king sent a large group of soldiers, horses and chariots to get Elisha. They traveled by night and totally surrounded the city.  The next morning, Elisha’s servant woke up and he was shocked and scared because he saw soldiers everywhere. He ran to Elisha to tell him the news.  Elisha encouraged his servant and prayed to God and asked Him to open his servant’s eyes to see what God was going to do.

Ladies many times we are afraid when we are faced with a situation because we cannot see what God is doing in our lives. Our first reaction is to panic or become anxious because like Elisha’s servant we are unable to see the plans God has for us. Sometimes we are placed in a situation so that God can complete his divine plan for us. Therefore today ladies next time you are faced with a daunting situation ask God to open up your eyes. Ask Him to open up your eyes so that you might see the plans that he has for you. Ladies Jeremiah 29:11 tells us that God plans for us are good plans, so all we have to do is to trust Him. Therefore instead of being afraid ask God to reveal what He is doing in your life.

Have A God Filled Day Ladies

Let’s Pray

Lord Jesus thank you for actively working in our lives, today we ask that you open up our spiritual eyes so that we will see the plans you have for us .
In Jesus Name
Amen

You are Precious to God

Today’s Scripture: “Don’t be afraid,” he said, “for you are very precious to God. Peace! Be encouraged! Be strong!” (NLT)

Song To Meditate on: Angels – Amy Grant (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MUKcUxnvHEw)

Today I was sharing with someone how the devil is always trying to abort my purpose. At times I feel like giving up and throwing in the towel. At times like Paul although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. I am not surprised however as John 10:10 tells us that “the thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy;” as such He is going to do everything to ensure that my purpose is aborted.

This morning you might be experiencing the same thing I am, you might be weak, depressed, churched out and ready to give up. Let me encourage you ladies with Daniel’s story. We see in the scripture where Daniel was praying for understanding, he was praying for some time but the prayer was not answered immediately. When the angel of the Lord came however, he reassured Daniel. He told him that he was precious to God and that God heard his prayer from the first day, however the angel had to be fighting the evil forces that were trying to block Daniel’s prayer.

In the same way ladies, we are precious to God and he hears our prayers. God is not just sitting down twiddling his thumbs allowing the devil to steal our joy, our peace and abort our purpose. He has assigned angels to all of us who are working on our behalf. Can you imagine where we would be if our angels were not blocking the evil forces?

Ladies, today I want you to rest assured knowing that you are precious to God, you are loved by him and your prayers will be answered in due time. In due time your strength will be renewed and you will be able to soar like eagles, just keep praying and trust that God has discharged His angels.

Have A God Filled Day Ladies

Let’s Pray

Lord thank you for discharging your angels to work on our behalf. Thank you for loving us and for answering our prayers.

In Jesus Name
Amen
