Clogged Drain

Today’s Scripture: Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever. Psalms 118:1 (NIV)

Song To Meditate on: Grateful - Hezekiah Walker & LFC (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DQy71bBnMbw)

A friend of mine was sharing with me recently how upset she was about her drain at home because it was clogged. This was inconvenient because she was unable to cook or have a shower. She complained bitterly about her inconvenience because it messed up her plans for the Christmas holidays. The first morning back to work, she was still complaining because she was not able to have her usually nice shower.

While on the bus she met a young man who was mentally disabled; he was unable to speak properly. Despite his disabilities however, he walked up to her and exclaimed brightly, as best as he could;

“Good morning mam and how are you?”

“Good morning, she answered, I am ok and how are you?”

“He answered brightly; I am blessed and highly favoured because I have life.”

The young man went on to have a very positive conversation with her for the rest of the journey.
My friend told me that she felt very bad because here she was being so upset because of a minor inconvenience however, here was this young man who was hardly able to speak and did not even have a job yet he was able to appreciate life for what it is.

The moral of this story is that we should remain positive and grateful in spite of what we are going through. My friend went further to tell that because her drain was clogged her daughter invited her for breakfast Christmas morning and she had dinner with close friends and family. She even had dinner to serve her for several days and best of all she was not as tired since this year she did no work at all. My friend wasn’t able to reflect on all these good things until she met this young man.

How often do we allow the little problems in our lives to prevent us from seeing the many blessings that God has given to us? This morning ladies focus on your blessings instead of magnifying your problems.  Focusing on your problems will cause you to worry and become unhappy. Instead of complaining let God know how grateful you are for all the things that he has done. Let the issues that flow from your heart today be gratefulness.

Have A God Filled Day Ladies

Let’s Pray

Mighty God, please forgive for the many times that we have complained or have been ungrateful. We just want to take time out this morning to thank you for all we have.
In Jesus Name

Amen

Merry Christmas

The True Meaning of Christmas

Song To Meditate on:  Joy To The World - Mariah Carey (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uzb8QseZd2s)

Today is Christmas Eve and I want to wish everyone a very merry Christmas however I also want to us to use this morning to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas.

For some of us Christmas means spending time with family, buying gifts, receiving gifts and  Christmas lights however there are some who are quite sorrowful because they have no families or loved ones to share it with
Yet Christmas means so much more and should be a time of joy for all because it is a time when Christians celebrate the birth of Christ. It is a time when we should reflect on the birth of Christ and what He has done for this world.

The Bible tells us in John 3:16 that God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. It also tells us that through Christ we can have peace that passes all understanding.

So today let us prepare our hearts to receive a King, let’s prepare our hearts to receive peace and joy and love and importantly too let us share this joy, peace and love others who might be sorrowful.
Invite someone who does not have a family over to have dinner with you. Give a gift to a child who did not have any today. Spend quality time with family and let them know how much you love them

Have a Very Merry Christmas Everybody

Let’s Pray

Father God I thank you for sending your son in this world so that we might have joy, peace, love and salvation. Lord we also pray that you will help us to share with everyone this love and peace that you have given to us.
In Jesus Name

Amen

I’ll be There

Main Scripture: I was senseless and ignorant; I was a brute beast before you. Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory. Psalms 73:22-24

Worship Song to Meditate On: God is Always There – Susan Best (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SiSQsy_Q294)

Have you ever had a friend who you can call on no matter what situation your in? Isn’t that just an awesome feeling knowing that the person is always available to you? In today’s scripture the psalmist experienced that with God. He understood that God did not leave him although he behaved in a stupid and ignorant manner

Often times we find ourselves in a situation where we feel so alone because we have no one we can call on. However, let me reassure you ladies that God will be there for you. David ask in Psalms 139:7-10 David asked

Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,
10 even there your hand will guide me,

Therefore ladies there is no need to fear because God is always with us. I also want to encourage you however to be there for someone especially in this season. Emulate God and spread the Christmas spirit by being there for someone who needs you.

Let’s Pray,
Mighty God we thank you today for not leaving us despite how we are. We ask you today to help us to be like you by being there for someone else.
In Jesus Name

 Amen

Open Our Eyes Lord

Today’s Scripture: And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.2 Kings 6:17

Song To Meditate on: Open the eyes of my heart (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wutmEjdbedE)

In today’s scripture the king of Aram was at war with God’s people in Israel. Each time the Arameans set up a place to attack, God would tell Elisha who would then tell the King of Israel. They would go a different way and avoid trouble. After many times of avoiding an attack, the king of Aram decided that someone in his army was telling his secrets to the king of Israel.  His army told him that no one in the army was sharing secrets. They explained that Elisha was telling the king of Israel what was going on. They knew that he was a man from God.  When the king heard this, he sent out a large group of army soldiers to find him. They found him in the city of Dothan. The king sent a large group of soldiers, horses and chariots to get Elisha. They traveled by night and totally surrounded the city.  The next morning, Elisha’s servant woke up and he was shocked and scared because he saw soldiers everywhere. He ran to Elisha to tell him the news.  Elisha encouraged his servant and prayed to God and asked Him to open his servant’s eyes to see what God was going to do.

Ladies many times we are afraid when we are faced with a situation because we cannot see what God is doing in our lives. Our first reaction is to panic or become anxious because like Elisha’s servant we are unable to see the plans God has for us. Sometimes we are placed in a situation so that God can complete his divine plan for us. Therefore today ladies next time you are faced with a daunting situation ask God to open up your eyes. Ask Him to open up your eyes so that you might see the plans that he has for you. Ladies Jeremiah 29:11 tells us that God plans for us are good plans, so all we have to do is to trust Him. Therefore instead of being afraid ask God to reveal what He is doing in your life.

Have A God Filled Day Ladies

Let’s Pray

Lord Jesus thank you for actively working in our lives, today we ask that you open up our spiritual eyes so that we will see the plans you have for us .
In Jesus Name
Amen

You are Precious to God

Today’s Scripture: “Don’t be afraid,” he said, “for you are very precious to God. Peace! Be encouraged! Be strong!” (NLT)

Song To Meditate on: Angels – Amy Grant (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MUKcUxnvHEw)

Today I was sharing with someone how the devil is always trying to abort my purpose. At times I feel like giving up and throwing in the towel. At times like Paul although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. I am not surprised however as John 10:10 tells us that “the thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy;” as such He is going to do everything to ensure that my purpose is aborted.

This morning you might be experiencing the same thing I am, you might be weak, depressed, churched out and ready to give up. Let me encourage you ladies with Daniel’s story. We see in the scripture where Daniel was praying for understanding, he was praying for some time but the prayer was not answered immediately. When the angel of the Lord came however, he reassured Daniel. He told him that he was precious to God and that God heard his prayer from the first day, however the angel had to be fighting the evil forces that were trying to block Daniel’s prayer.

In the same way ladies, we are precious to God and he hears our prayers. God is not just sitting down twiddling his thumbs allowing the devil to steal our joy, our peace and abort our purpose. He has assigned angels to all of us who are working on our behalf. Can you imagine where we would be if our angels were not blocking the evil forces?

Ladies, today I want you to rest assured knowing that you are precious to God, you are loved by him and your prayers will be answered in due time. In due time your strength will be renewed and you will be able to soar like eagles, just keep praying and trust that God has discharged His angels.

Have A God Filled Day Ladies

Let’s Pray

Lord thank you for discharging your angels to work on our behalf. Thank you for loving us and for answering our prayers.

In Jesus Name
Amen

Refuse To Die

Today’s Scripture: I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord. Psalms 118:17 (KJV)

Song To Meditate on: I Speak Life – Donald Lawrence and Company (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7SIegm0Eou4)

Are you going through a situation where you feel as if you are on your last? Is your situation a spiritual one, a financial one or even a literal illness where the doctor told you that you are going to die?

Ladies today I want you to be resolved in your mind that you are not going to die. In Psalms 118 we see where David was surrounded by his enemies, where they talked about him and wanted to kill him but He refused to die. He refused to die because He understood who was on His side. He understood that it was not man who was on his side but God. He understood that it was better to trust in God than to trust in man but most of all David understood that the power of God can destroy his enemies.

So today ladies before you give up and die, remember that God has not given up on you. Instead of quitting and throwing in the towel make up your mind that you are going to live. Remember that greater is He that is within you than he that is of this world. People maybe talking about you, people may want to get rid of you, your financial situation may be bad, you may be frustrated , you may not have any strength left in you and your all cried out but refuse to die. Refuse to die because even though God has allowed you to go through these testing and trials He did not hand you over to death. He did not hand you over to death because He knows there is so much left in you. He sees your future and not you’re past.

Ladies even if you are sick unto death, speak life to those dead cells in your body. Speak life to your relationship. Speak life to your dead situations. Speak life to your business. Speak life over your family. Speak life over every situation today.

Today ladies refuse to die and decide to live.

Have A God Filled Day Ladies

Let’s Pray

Mighty God, today we speak life over every dead situation , we speak life to our bodies, we speak life to our finances, we speak life to our health, we speak life to our ministry and every dead area in our lives
In Jesus Name
Amen

Testify

Today’s Scripture: And they have defeated him by the blood of the Lamb
and by their testimony Rev 12:11 (NLT)

Song To Meditate on: Testimony – Anthony Brown (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JMYBdKpXsP8)

Recently I was having a conversation with a friend of mine and he was sharing with me how he was dealing with some issues he is currently facing. Ladies his issues are not very simple everyday issues however, he has resorted to getting closer to God and exhibiting a very positive attitude. Talking to my friend really encouraged me and reminded me of how important it is to testify. The truth is if you don’t ask him about his situation you would have no clue that he is dealing with an issue and you would not know about what God has done for him.

Many times people have problems and they think they are alone in the world, however, if someone should share what they have been through and how they have overcome, it will help that person to overcome as well. Most of us while going through have been encouraged by some else’s testimony, just hearing how God has helped others to overcome usually gives us the inspiration or builds our faith so that we can hold on a little longer.

God helps us in times of trouble so that we can encourage others with our experiences. It is our testimonies of how God brought us through that builds the faith of others and cause them to overcome. When we testify we are witnessing about  God’s awesome power. Therefore ladies, do not hold back on telling others about how God is working in your life; there might be someone who needs to be encouraged today. There might be someone that God wants to take to another level and your testimony will cause them to overcome.

Have A God Filled Day Ladies

Let’s Pray

Lord we thank you for taking us through our trials. Help us to boldly tell others about what you have done for us so that they too will overcome and you will be glorified.

In Jesus Name

Amen

True Wisdom

Song To Meditate on: Wisdom (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aJHcRaK1WFU)

Solomon in Proverbs 4:7 said “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom:.” In the scripture He encourages us:

  • ·         Not to forsake wisdom because it will preserve us
  • ·         To love it  because it will keep us
  • ·         To embrace it because it will promote us

True wisdom does not come from knowledge, experience and insight like the world wants us to believe instead it comes from God. Proverbs 9:10 tells us that “The reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord is the beginning (the chief and choice part) of Wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight and understanding.” (AMP)

Therefore ladies it is very important for us to understand and get to know God so that we can gain true wisdom. Our limited insights, experience and knowledge gained from this world cannot be compared to God’s insights, experience and knowledge. As 1 Corinthians 1:25 says “the foolishness of God is wiser than men.” (KJV).

You see ladies true wisdom will help us to discern what is true, what is right , will teach us to depart from evil and also provides self-control.  The wisdom that comes from God according to James 3:17 “… is first of all pure (undefiled); then it is peace-loving, courteous (considerate, gentle). [It is willing to] yield to reason, full of compassion and good fruits; it is wholehearted and straightforward, impartial and unfeigned (free from doubts, wavering, and insincerity)” (AMP)

Ladies, I implore you, seek this wisdom by asking God for it. James 1: 5 tells us “if you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.”

Have A God Filled Day Ladies

Let’s Pray

Father your said we should ask for wisdom if we lack it, therefore God, this morning we submit to you and pray that you will grant us true wisdom.
In Jesus Name
Amen

Good Gifts

Today’s Scripture: Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. James 1:17 (NLT)

Song To Meditate on: Crystal Lewis – Lord I Believe In You https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-5U3mjsZ1I&list=PL7B9522C583847E6E)

Ladies, isn’t it just a wonderful thing when someone gives you a gift, especially a good one. Well today’s scripture tells us that all good gifts come from God.
God is a giver of good gifts. He knows His children’s needs and blesses us accordingly.  Matthew 7:11, says “So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him.”

The scripture today says every good gift and every perfect gift is from above. Ladies “every” means that there is no exception. Therefore, all good and perfect things in your life come from God. It also means that anything you need that is good or perfect and you ask God for it He will give it to you. It doesn’t mean however that He will give it to you in your timing but you will get it as long as you have faith and it is in line with God’s perfect will for your life.

Matthew 7:7 also tells us that we should ask and it shall be given unto us…for everyone who asks receives. It is important however that we take the advice given in James 1:6-7, “But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver…Such people should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.”

So Ladies, my encouragement to you this morning is to ask God for whatever you need, believing that you will receive.

Have A God Filled Day Ladies

Let’s Pray
Lord we thank you that you are the giver of good gifts; we thank you that you that we can ask and it will be given to us. So God today I pray that you will grant us all the good desires of our hearts..
In Jesus Name

Amen

A Channel Of Peace

Today’s Scripture: “And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.” Colossians 3:15

Song To Meditate on: Make Me A Channel of Your Peace (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ihhvm6eLWZI)

I recently came up on a quote that says “Those that talk down to you are just trying to walk tall by making u feel small” This quote had me reflecting  on the story of David and Goliath. It also had me reflecting on a period in my childhood where I had some neighbours that used to talk down to me and my sisters all the time. It also made me remember my brother telling me that when people talk down to me it is because they want to be like me.

Ladies do you know anyone who constantly talks down to you? Do you wonder why? Do you wonder what did you do to the person to deserve them treating you so badly? The answer is that the person sees something in you that they admire, (well maybe envy). The person wants to be like you and do not know how to deal with it therefore the person talks down to you.

I encourage you today not to be perturbed any longer by the actions of persons who are jealous of you, the Bible tells us in Proverbs 14:30 that “a tranquil heart gives life to the flesh, but envy makes the bones rot.” Therefore be at peace, take a leaf out of David’s book, and become confident in the God you serve knowing that He is with you and greater is He that is in you than He that is in the world.

Recently, I had a similar situation and I would get so upset whenever the person spoke down to me. I decided to pray about and ask God to help me to deal with it differently, since then I don’t let it bother me and I react in a calm and loving manner (most times) , the person now deals with me differently because they realize that they cannot get to me anymore.

So today ladies pray and ask God to give you peace so that you might not be perturbed by the person’s actions. Also ask God to let his peace rule in your heart so that you will be able to show the person love. Showing the person love will confuse the person and cause the person to change.

Have A God Filled Day Ladies

Let’s Pray
Father today we pray for your peace that passes all understanding so that we can deal with those that envy us. Lord we also pray that your love will shine through us so that we may exemplify you.
In Jesus Name
Amen

You will do Greater Works

Today’s Scripture: “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. John4:12 (NKJV)

Song To Meditate on: You’re Unstoppable – Paul Hoffman (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3GRtq3proKk)

Many of us are socialized to believe that we have to follow the footsteps of our parents. We have been told that “it’s a family thing” or “you are a chip off the old block “or “the tree does not fall from the root.” or “you are just like your mother or father.”

However Jesus Christ himself, who is our heavenly Daddy, tells us different, He says that we will do greater works than our heavenly father…we just have to believe in him. So ladies if we can do greater works than Jesus Christ did while He was on earth we can also do greater than our earthly parents. The Lord has empowered us with power, potential and tools that way surpass our wildest imaginations. Therefore do not allow yourself or anyone else to limit you. God has a unique plan for each of us and while it is good for us to have role models and mentors, we should strive to be greater than them.

1st Corinthians 2:9 tells us that “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” Therefore our parents and mentors are placed in our lives to guide us and show us the path but we were made to exceed what they have achieved.

Judy Garland puts it like this “Always be a first rate version of yourself and not a second rate version of someone else.” So ladies, aim for the highest, shoot for the stars and make your own mark. Your parents and mentors will be proud of you for it.

Have A God Filled Day Ladies

Let’s Pray

Father we thank you for being our heavenly Daddy and we thank you for our parents that have gone ahead of us and paved the way, but Lord help us to do greater works and to realize the potential that you have placed in us.
In Jesus Name

Amen

What About The Long Run?

Today’s Scripture: "Esau said to Jacob, 'Pour ... me ... some of that red stuff for I am exhausted.' Jacob said, 'Sell ... your birthright to me.' ....Esau said, '...I am going to die, so of what use to me is a birthright?' “(Genesis 25:30-32)

Song To Meditate on: Spiritual by Donald Lawrence & Co. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ynGmn5m8XUQ)

Today’s scripture tells us about the story of Esau and how he sold his birth right to his younger brother for some “red stew.” What happened with Esau is known in economics as the shortsightedness effect, this is where there is “a bias in favor of programs that have immediate benefits that are easily identifiable, even if the long run costs are much greater that the benefits.”

You see ladies in the time of Esau and Jacob there was a special blessing that came with being a first born. This was referred to as a birthright – a birthright was a special honour given to the firstborn son and included a double portion of the family’s inheritance along with the honour of one day becoming the family’s leader. Giving up his birthright means that he would have given up all that was due to him.

Esau was very hungry at the time and saw a quick and easy way to satisfy his hunger, therefore when Jacob told him to sell him his birthright; he thought nothing of it as he was focusing on the now and how he could satisfy his hunger quickly.

Ladies, we may sit and shake our heads at Esau and even call him names such as stupid, greedy and irresponsible, but how many of us have made choices because we want to satisfy some instantaneous caving or desire without thinking about the long term effect or consequences?

How many times have we disobeyed God commands without thinking of the everlasting consequences? How many times have we engaged in some impulsive, irresponsible behavior because we felt like it? How many times have we been unkind to our partners, our children, our relatives or just some person on the road because we were having a bad day yet we say we are leaders, wives, mothers and Christians? How many times have we satisfied our selfish desires because we want to move up the ladder of success without thinking about the other person?

Ladies our actions today, and the choices we make, affect not only our own lives, but influence generations to come; as such we have to keep our emotions and our desires in check. Some instantaneous action or feeling may just haunt us for eternity. Therefore strive not to focus on what is instant or material, focus on that which is spiritual and Christ like.

Have A God Filled Day Ladies

Let’s Pray

Father help us not to make decision based on our feelings or cravings. Help us not to look at the material but to live in the spiritual so that we may make our decisions based on your leading.

In Jesus Name

Amen
