Fight

Main Verse: These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. John16:33 (KJV)

Song to meditate on: We Shall Overcome – Pete Seeger (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2b24Ewk934g)

I was reading a book about a woman who was wrongly accused of murder and charged along with three of her friends. They were sentenced to time in prison. However, this woman was beaten almost every night by the prison guards; she was beaten for everything she did because they wanted her to confess to the murders. This woman however never gave up, the more they beat her, the more resolute she became about not confessing to something she didn’t do. The more she fought to prove her innocence.

This book had me thinking about how life tends to beat us up sometimes. Sometimes the stress and hard times that comes our way can be really burdensome. The challenges sometimes come one after the other and if you’re not careful you just give up on life.

This morning ladies, I am encouraging you to fight, fight life. Fight the things that life throws at you and be determined that you are going to overcome. Put on your boxing gloves and:

Fight life knowing that with God all things are possible
Fight life knowing that God will not give you more than you can bear
Fight life knowing that God made you more than a conqueror
Fight life knowing that you were made to overcome
Fight life knowing that you are resilient and that you can beat this.

Margaret Thatcher once said that “You may have to fight a battle more than once to win it,” but even if that is so, don’t give up just continue fighting. You will win, John 16:33 tells us we should be of good cheer because God has already overcome.

Have A God Filled Day Ladies.

Let’s Pray:
Lord Jesus, our father, the one who overcame this world.  Lord open up our eyes to see that we can overcome the trials, challenges and temptations of this world.
In Jesus Name
Amen.
