Do Not Abort It

Song To Inspire You: Irene Cara – What A Feeling (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Rvs6mNoMcs)

Napoleon Hill, Authour of Think and Grow Rich once said that "What the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve" This was one of his Hallmark expressions and is considered the formula for success. The thought behind this saying is that there is nothing that cannot be done.

The Bible also tells us in Hebrew 11:1 faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”(KJV). The problem with some of us however, is that we conceive but we doubt so we never achieve. We lack faith. Another problem is that we conceive, we believe but we never act upon what we conceive. James 2:14-26 also tells us that faith without works is dead. As such if we conceive and have faith but we never get up and do anything about it we will never achieve.

Today ladies, I urge you, do not abort your ideas. God has given all of us the capacity to think and come up with great ideas but a lot of us are just walking around with them in our heads. Instead of doing that here is the formula for success:

·         Conceive – Once your idea has been conceived, pray about it and ensure that it is the will of God for your life. Proverbs 19:21 tell us that “many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the LORD that will stand.” (ESV)

·         Believe – Once you know that this is the purpose of God for your life, believe it with all your heart, do not give up on the promise that God gave you. If He says it will happen, it will and there is no need to fear, just trust God. Proverbs 3:5-6 says “Trust in the LORD with all your heart; and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct your paths.”(KJV) also Jeremiah 29:11 tells us “for I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (NIV)

·         Take Action
§  Make a plan for what you want to achieve, set goals with timelines and work towards them.
§  Focus – do not lose focus, eliminate distractions and be dedicated to what you have set your mind to.

·         Achieve – Now that you have accomplished your goals never forget who took you there. Give God the glory; remember that ever good gift comes from God, the one who created us.

Remember ladies, birth the ideas that God has placed in you, and never cause it to be aborted.

Have A God Filled Day Ladies

Let’s Pray

Father God, thank you for the ideas that you have given to us. Help us to bring them to full term and cause us not to abort them before they mature.
In Jesus Name

Amen

Stay Positive

Main Scripture:  Even so, I have noticed one thing, at least, that is good. It is good for people to eat, drink, and enjoy their work under the sun during the short life God has given them, and to accept their lot in life. And it is a good thing to receive wealth from God and the good health to enjoy it. To enjoy your work and accept your lot in life—this is indeed a gift from God.  God keeps such people so busy enjoying life that they take no time to brood over the past. Ecclesiastes 5:18 -20 (NLT)

Song to Meditate On: What A Wonderful World – Louis Armstrong (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2VCwBzGdPM)

With everything that is happening around us, with the hard blows that life throws at us, we tend to focus on the negative instead of the positive. In this scripture however, King Solomon encourages us to accept our lot in life and enjoy what God has given to us.
In other words He is encouraging us to focus on the positive instead of focusing on the negative. Thinking positively does not mean that you should keep your head in the sand and ignore life's less pleasant situations. Positive thinking just means that you are to approach the unpleasantness in a more positive and productive way. Instead of thinking the worst, think the best is going to happen.
In Romans 12:12 the Apostle Paul encourages us to “be joyful in hope.” Here he is encouraging us to hope for the best and to be happy while doing so.
Ladies thinking positively is something that you have to make up your mind to do. Start by asking God to give you a mind of contentment.
Secondly, surround yourself with positive influences – do not listen to negative talk, keep positive people around you, listen to good music (gospel, classical, jazz) and read positive books.

Thirdly, become a positive influence to others – start positive reinforcement, focus on the positive in your friends, co-workers, spouses and children instead of focusing on the negative. This will cause great improvements in your relationships and environment.

Have A God Filled Day Ladies

Let’s Pray,

Father God, thank you for life, for waking us up this morning, for a job, for keeping us in our right minds. Lord I just want to give you thanks for each and every lady that will be staying positive as of today.

Strength for The Journey

Today’s Scripture: Then the angel of the Lord came again and touched him and said, “Get up and eat some more, or the journey ahead will be too much for you.”  So he got up and ate and drank, and the food gave him enough strength to travel forty days and forty nights to Mount Sinai, the mountain of God.

Song To Meditate on: One Word – Kurt Car Singers (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yLmzIDMf3wM)

The Prophet Elijah had served the Lord for all His life. Elijah challenged the 450 prophets of Baal and the 400 prophets of the false god Asherah to a showdown on Mount Carmel. He proved to the people that God was the one true God and ordered the people to slay the 850 false prophets. As a result Jezebel was furious with him and swore to kill him. Afraid, Elijah ran to the wilderness, sat under a broom tree, and in his despair, asked God to take his life. Instead, the prophet slept, and an angel brought him food. Strengthened, Elijah went 40 days and 40 nights to Mount Horeb, where God appeared to him in a whisper.

Like Elijah we become frustrated, depressed, tired, worn and discouraged to the point where we feel as if we want to give up or just “throw in the towel”. This kind of feeling is quite normal however, this morning I want to assure you that God will give you the additional strength needed to take you to the end of journey. Philippians 1:6 assures us that the God who started a good work in us will perfect it. Therefore if God made a promise to you, you can rest assured that the promise will be fulfilled.

God will not only fulfill the promise, He will replenish you when you become tired and weary. All you have to do is “to get up and eat some more” so you can complete the journey. All you have to do is to spend time building your faith. You build your faith by spending time in the word, “…faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Romans 10:17 (NKJV)

You see ladies, the enemy will place doubt in our minds so we become frustrated and feel like giving up, however the key is to ask God to give you the additional strength needed to complete the journey. Just like He strengthened Elijah with food to complete the journey, He will strengthen us with spiritual food through His Word. This Word may come when you go to church, from another person or even in your own quiet time during your morning devotions but you can rest assured that if you ask God for help He will provide an inspiration that will take you through the next phase of the journey.

Allow God to speak to you today so that you can complete the journey.

Have A God Filled Day Ladies

Let’s Pray
Father we pray today that you will speak to us through your Word, strengthen and inspire us so that we can complete this journey or this task that you have given to us. Father, we believe that your promise to us will be fulfilled.
In Jesus Name

Amen

What Is In You

Today’s Scripture: A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other 1 Cor 12:7 (NLT)

Song To Meditate on: Manifest (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AZH6prfGmas)

According to today’s scripture we were all given gifts by God and as Paula White says “We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. To just exist is a waste of days!

The fact is ladies, there is no need for us to go around telling ourselves that we have nothing to do or that we are incapable of doing anything or that we have no talent. It is clearly stated in the scriptures, God gave you a gift, and all you need to do is to find out what is in you?

Find out what is in you by discovering yourself – do a self-evaluation of yourself, find out what are your likes and dislikes, find out what are your strengths and weaknesses. Ask God to reveal to you what He has placed inside of you.

After you have found out what is in you, use that gift to help others and to develop the kingdom of God.

Have A God Filled Day Ladies

Let’s Pray

Lord we thank you today for giving us all unique and special gifts. Help those of us who don’t know what is in us to discover the gift that you have given to us so that your glory might be manifested.

In Jesus Name

Amen

Daily Bread

Today’s Scripture: Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Matt 4:4 (KJV)

Song To Meditate On: This is the Air I Breathe – Micheal W. Smith (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mEDcKZB7r2A)

Today’s scripture is telling us that food alone cannot sustain us as human beings because we also have spiritual needs. It is amazing however, that many of us think we cannot go a day without food but we go weeks, months and years without hearing a word from God. The result of this however, is death be it physical, financial, emotional or spiritual death.

Ladies understand that we are made up of body, spirit and soul. It is important to feed our bodies and our souls but it is also important to ensure that the spiritual man is fed. As the scripture says the spirit man is fed by every word that proceedeth out of God’s mouth. The words that proceedeth out of God’s mouth is contained in the scriptures or can be heard when God speaks to you himself whether during your quiet time or through someone else.

Here are some benefits of feeding yourself with the Word of God:

·         God’s Word is true – Proverbs 30:5 tells us the every word of God is pure and John 17:17 tells us that the Word of the Lord is true. Therefore you do not have to worry about whether or not you are being lied to when you read the word of God

·         God’s Word builds your faith - Faith cometh by hearing; and hearing by the Word of God. If you continuously read and apply the Word to your life you will find that your belief will be stronger as the word manifests itself  in your everyday life.

·         God’s Word is alive and full of power – As it says in Hebrews 4:12, God’s word is able to penetrate or change anyone, it causes people to analyze, judge and change the inner most desires of the heart. This is why a drug addict, a murderer, a prostitute etc reads or hears the word of God and changes their ways.

·         God’s Word does what it says it will do – Unlike man, when God speaks He does what He says He will do. Isaiah 55:11 says “it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper [in the thing] whereto I sent it.

·         God’s Word stands forever - While the flowers fade and man will break their promises, the Word of the Lord will not change (Isaiah 40:8). So you can be assured that if God made a promise to you, even if it comes to pass in your 5th generation, it shall come to pass. This was evident in the story of Abraham where He didn’t see the Promise land but his descendants saw it. Also He was made father many nations through his descendants.

So ladies do not neglect feeding your spiritual man as this will also keep your physical and emotional man alive.

Have A God Filled Day Ladies

Let’s Pray

Lord we thank you for giving us your word. Feed us with your word so that we may become stronger each day
In Jesus Name
Amen

Say Yes

Today’s Scripture: What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you? You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God.  When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures. James 4:1-2 (NIV)

Song To Meditate On: Yes To Your Will – Kim Burrell (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZENyLFuANQ)

Recently someone brought this scripture to my attention and I thought “wow! There is just so much truth to this scripture.” It caused me to reflect not just on what causes contentions in relationships but even contentions within us.

One commentary said that James could be referring “to conflict in group relationships, such as within a church: inflexibility about issues (from a desire to have one's own way), maneuvering for position of authority (from a desire for status and admiration within the community) or criticizing others (from a desire to make oneself look good). It is equally applicable in individual relationships, such as a marital conflict: constantly exchanging hurtful words (from a desire to get even) or carrying out sexual infidelity (from a desire for selfish pleasure or simply a desire for another spouse). “

I was also watching an old western movie and the town elected a man to become Sheriff because he was capable of taking on a gang that had been terrorizing the town for some time. He knew he was capable of getting rid of the gang however he had one reservation – his desire for alcohol. He just could not kick the habit so when his colleague was trying to convince him to take the position because of how good he was with the gun, he replied that it was easy fighting against the gun but this time the fight was “me against me.”

The fact is ladies, most conflicts whether they are with ourselves, with someone else or even with another country usually start because of our own personal or selfish desires. Yet  if we say yes to God’s will for our lives, if we just submit to God’s will there would not be so much conflict, tears or pain.

The bible admonishes us to:

·         Abstain from all appearance of evil. 1 Thess 5:22
·         Neither give place to the devil. Ephesians 4:27
·         Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Phillipians 2:5

If we should  let go off our selfish ambitions and our personal desires and obey God’s word, this world would be a better place. There would be no wars among countries, there would be no divorce and our struggles would not be so many.

This morning ladies I implore you to say yes to what God is prompting you to do, before you do anything ask the question Is this what God requires of me? I assure you if you do this you will have more peace in all you do.

Have A God Filled Day Ladies

Let’s Pray

Father thank you for your mercies that are new every morning. Help us to submit to your will so that this world can be a more peaceful and loving place to live.
In Jesus Name
Amen

Go To The Rock

Today’s Scripture: From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I. Psalms 61:2

Song To Meditate On: I Go To The Rock – Whitney Houston (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2cqQXURhK4M)

A rock by definition is a solid mineral material forming part of the surface of the earth and other planets. Some rocks are large, while some are small. There are also different kinds of rocks for example igneous rocks, metamorphic rocks and sedimentary rocks. Rocks are used for many different purposes such as decoration, building homes, building bridges etc.

This morning however, I want to talk to you about a different kind of rock. This is not a physical rock. This is rock is called Jesus. This is the rock that David spoke about in Psalms 61:2 when He said lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

Understand Ladies that David was overwhelmed when He prayed this prayer. In Jamaica we would say, “him did frass”. David wrote this Psalm when he was being pursued not just by His enemies but by His own son who wanted to kill him because He wanted to become king. He was going through a period where he just didn’t know what to do. It was one of those times when He was all tried out; His strength was spent so He decided to turn to the rock that was stronger than Him. He decided to turn to God, so He likened Him unto a rock where He could hide, He likened Him unto a safe place.

Today ladies I want to introduce you to this rock called Jesus:

There is healing in this rock – Whatever illness dealing with today, no matter how chronic it is, this rock is capable of healing. We are told in the book of Isaiah that by His stripes we are healed. Exodus 15:26 also says “I’m the Lord that healeth thee.” Therefore ladies your healing is in the rock, whether you’re sick emotionally or physically you can run to this rock this morning for healing.

There is provision in the rock – The Lord is our provider, many times we are in a situation where we are broke, no money, no food on the table and all we have to do is say God help me and we see our neighbor or a family member coming. That is God providing for us. Phillipians 4:19 tells us that the Lord shall supply our needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

There is peace in the rock – Are you worried? Are you feeling miserable or anxious this morning? Well the rock provides a peace that passeth all understanding. Jesus once asked His disciples which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? Whenever you are in trouble call on Jesus, He is able just put your faith in Him. He is the rock.

There is strength in the rock – When you are feeling weak remember that you can do all things through Christ who strengthen you. You just have to trust God and believe that He will pull you through. Isaiah 41:10 says fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

There is salvation in the rock – The Lord is my light and my salvation whom shall I fear? Jesus Christ was crucified between two thieves on a rugged cross on Calvary, just outside Jerusalem so that we could be saved. So that we can have an abundant life, free of pain, misery and eternal death. All you need to do today is accept His free Gift of Salvation

Have A God Filled Day Ladies

Let’s Pray,
Lord Jesus, thank you for being our rock. Thank you for being our hiding place, our peace, our provider, our strength and our salvation. As each of us go to our different places of work or school, we look to you our rock for taking us through this day
In Jesus Name
Amen

Only God’s Mercies

Today’s Scripture: Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: Psalms 23:6 (KJV)

Song To Meditate On: Mercy Said No – Ce Ce Winans (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bwm1HpkaIDQ)

How many times have we been on the verge of death, whether it is spiritual or physical and suddenly something snatches us, something blocked it. That is when mercy steps in and says no. No to walking outside of God’s will, No to committing spiritual or emotional suicide, no to you dying physically.

There is a constant battle for our peace, our joy and our lives as such the enemy will bring all different challenges to test us so that we can walk outside of the will of God. As the song said Life and death stood face to face. Ladies the enemy does not want to see us prosper or live.  The Bible in John 10:10 tells us that “the thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy;” but thank God for sending His son Jesus to give us a rich and satisfying life.

Therefore when the devil comes with His lies and schemes to destroy us, the Lord is merciful enough to step in and take back our joy, peace and sanity from Him. The Bible tells us that “When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.”

The Bible also assures us that goodness and mercy will follow us all the days of our lives. We just need to align with the teaching and will of God.

Have A God Filled Day Ladies

Let’s Pray,

Mighty God thank you for being so merciful. Even when we are out of alignment with your will your still faithful. We appreciate you and thank you.
In Jesus Name

Amen

We are God’s Creation

Today’s Scripture: O Lord, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand. Isaiah 64:8 (KJV)

Song To Meditate On: Imagine Me – Kirk Franklyn (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I66SDeRQSJ4)

We are all God’s creation, we all are the work of his hand, many of us however, are caught in the trap of believing what we were told by those we allow to influence us.

Many of us struggle with low self-esteem, low self-confidence, fear, hatred and unforgiveness. Many of us believe that we are no better than what our parents told us and we cannot see beyond the vision that was etched in our minds by our circumstances and experiences or those of others.

This morning I encourage you to imagine yourself as God’s Creation:
Psalms 139:14 tells us that we are fearfully and wonderfully made by God, this means that you were made distinct and unique, specially designed by God for a purpose. Therefore, there is no need to feel bad because you are different from someone else. You are God’s Master piece and you were designed that way.

Genesis 1:31 further tells us that everything God had made was very good. Therefore do not believe the lies that you are incompetent or you are good for nothing. It was God who made you, in His image, for His purpose, for His glory.

He did not make you with insecurities, low self-esteem, low self-confidence or fear. He gave you power and a sound mind. He made you an overcomer and a conqueror. He gives you peace and He loves you.

So today, whatever comes your way, whatever doubts, whatever challenges, whatever disappointments be reminded that Your God’s Creation.

Have A God Filled Day Ladies

Let’s Pray,

Lord we thank you for making us in your own image, fearfully and wonderfully. Lord we pray that you will help us to see the beauty in you creation knowing that you made us for your purpose and glory.

In Jesus Name

Amen
