Determination

Main Scripture: Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it. 1 Corinthians 9:24 (ESV)

Song To Meditate On: I am Determined to Hold Out to the End (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fA1nHvpQ9n4)

“I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears and sweat. We have before us an ordeal of the most grievous kind. We have before us many, many long months of struggle and of suffering. You ask, what is our policy? I can say: It is to wage war, by sea, land and air, with all our might and with all the strength that God can give us; to wage war against a monstrous tyranny, never surpassed in the dark, lamentable catalogue of human crime. That is our policy. You ask, what is our aim? I can answer in one word: It is victory, victory at all costs, victory in spite of all terror, victory, however long and hard the road may be;

These were some of the words Winston Churchill used in his first speech as Prime Minister to to the House of Commons May 13, 1940.

Like Winston Churchill many of us have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears and sweat. Sometimes we offer so much of this that we feel like giving up.
My encouragement to you today is never to give up, no matter what your dreams are, determination will get you there. You may have the scars to show for it after because you have tripped or fallen so many times but never give up. Set your sights on the victory ahead. As Paul said, “in a race all runners run, but one receives the prize. Be determined to win, no matter the cost.

Have A God Filled Day Ladies

Let’s Pray,

Mighty God, we come to you this morning with a made up mind to win. Lord we are determined to win this race and to gain victory. Lord we stand resolute knowing that with you all things are possible. We thank you for carrying us thus far as we continue to depend on you to strengthen us.

In Jesus Name

Amen
