Protect What You Value

Main Scripture: “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. Matt 16:19-21 (NIV)
If I should ask you the question, what is your most valuable possession? Would I get responses like my car, my house, or my jewelry? Would it be all material things?

The Bible encourages us in Matthew 16:19-21. “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal”.  Instead we should “store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.”

We often pay great price go to great lengths to protect the material things we value; we insure our cars, our houses and our lives. We grill our houses, we put alarm on our cars and we buy safety deposit boxes.
While the scripture above is by no means suggesting that we should not save and invest our resources. It is imploring us to spend time treasuring or protecting the things in this life that will last instead of cherishing the things that can be stolen. Too often these days, we hear of young people dying, having heart attacks and all kinds of sicknesses because they are overworked or stressed.

Ladies store up for yourselves treasures in heaven and protect these things. Value your salvation, your families, yourselves and your relationship with God. Protect these things by investing time and resources in them.  Find time for the Creator, find time for your family, ensure you have optimal health and spend time with yourselves.

Have A God Filled Day Ladies

Let’s Pray,

Lord, this morning we want to take time to thank you for our earthly possessions. However, today we pray that you will help us to treasure those things that will last, those things that are treasures of heaven more than these earthly things.

In Jesus Name

Amen
