Forgiveness

Main Scripture: For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.  But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. Matthew 6:14-15

It is said that you don't forgive someone for his or her sake - you forgive them for your sake. Today’s Scripture, proves this statement to be true. The scripture clearly states that God will not forgive us unless we forgive others who have done us wrong.  Mark 11:25 also tells us that “when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”

Ladies these are things we often take for granted but in order to live a prosperous, peaceful and blessed life, one that is holy in the sight of God we have to learn to forgive those that have wronged us.

In addition, studies have shown that, forgiveness can lead to:
• Healthier relationships
• Greater spiritual and psychological well-being
• Less anxiety, stress and hostility
• Lower blood pressure
• Fewer symptoms of depression
• Lower risk of alcohol and substance abuse

Long and short of it, let us do ourselves a favour and forgive the person that we have been holding a grudge against for the longest while. Forgiving does not mean that you have to forget what the person did or that you have to remain in an abusive relationship; it just means that you will let go of the feelings of resentment and thoughts of revenge.

It might take some time for you to heal and reconcile with the person however, so that YOU will have peace, and that YOU may be right with God just let go.

Let’s Pray

Heavenly Father, we come to you today in humility. We ask that you help us to let go of the resentment that we feel towards our brother, sister, husband, friend or acquaintance. We have accepted that this is not something that we can do on our own, it’s not something that we even want to do but it is required of us and so we choose to forgive. Lord we give our hurts, resentments and pain over to you in exchange for a life of joy, peace and happiness.

In Jesus Name

Amen

Have a God Filled Day Ladies
