Thoughts

Main Scripture: …. whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Watch your thoughts; they become your words
Watch your words; they become your actions
Watch your actions; they become your habits
Watch your habits; they become your character
Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.

It is often said that “the mind is a powerful thing” and Mahatma Gandhi said that “A man is but the product of his thoughts - what he thinks, he becomes.”  Our thoughts are very powerful and science is doing exciting experiments with the power of thought. In July 2007 the Silicon Valley company. Nerosky launched a device that lets you control a computer game just by using your thoughts.

Obviously, the Apostle Paul knew that our thoughts shape who we are, as such he encourages us to think on things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report, virtuous and worthy of praise.

As humans, we have the ability to control our thoughts  as such it is vitally important that we are careful with what enters our minds, therefore we should be aware of what we feed our minds through TV, movies, music, radio, and the Internet.

This morning ask God to help you to control your thoughts. Whatever comes your way today, challenge yourself to think on the things that the scripture proposes above. Also, as of today challenge yourself to think differently, remember the mind is a battlefield but you are not alone, God is able to keep you. Isaiah 59:19 tells us that “when the devil comes in like a flood, the Spirit of God will raise a standard against him.”

Let’s Pray,

Father, we thank you for another day, another opportunity to give our hearts and mind to you. Lord today we pray that you will help us to think only on things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report, virtuous and worthy of praise. In our quest to become better and godly women we ask that you help us to control our thoughts, take our minds captive Lord so that we will only think things that are pleasing in your sight.

In Jesus Name

Amen

Have a God Filled Day Ladies
