Main Scripture: Stay away
from a foolish man, for you will not find competent advice. Proverbs 14:7
Today’s
scripture cautions us to avoid foolish men as they are not able to give very
good advice or in other words you will not learn much from them. I believe that
it is dangerous and unwise to seek advice from or keep company with foolish
people. When making a business decision or a decision on who to partner with or
even seeking advice on some issue that is plaguing you, ladies talking to a
fool could prove detrimental. It could result in you making bad decisions that
will result in dangerous consequences in the long-term. The Bible tells us that
a foolish man is:
·
A VERY GOOD TALKER - (Ecclesiastes 5:3 KJV) … a fool's voice is
known by multitude of words.
·
QUICK TEMPERED - (Proverbs 12:16 NASB) A fool always loses his
temper…,
·
QUARRELSOME - (Proverbs 20:3 ISV) … every fool is quarrelsome.
·
LOVES MISCHIEF – (Proverbs 10:23 KJV)… It is as sport to a fool
to do mischief:…
·
UNTEACHABLE IN CERTAIN AREAS - (Proverbs 1:7 KJV) …but fools
despise wisdom and instruction.
·
MOCKS THEIR OWN SIN - (Proverbs
14:9 KJV) Fools make a mock at
sin….
·
DENIES GOD – (Psalms 14:1) the fool hath said in his heart, there
is no God…
We have to humbly admit however, that at one time or another we have
been foolish, as such while we should be cautious about keeping company with
foolish people, we should always seek God’s advice and wisdom as true wisdom
comes from God.
Let’s Pray
Father, help us to discern those among us who are foolish, but
Lord we also pray that you teach us to be wise in all that we do and in all
that we say.
In Jesus Name
Amen
