Main Scripture: For I am convinced that neither death nor life,
neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers,
neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to
separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans
8:38-39)
One of the most difficult things in life to deal with is the
death of a loved one. It is often dreaded by many and is considered to be so
final, sometimes so sudden and seems to be so frequent these days.
I can
still remember that day, I was at work and my mother called me and told me that
my dad died. “How could this be?” I asked. I spoke to him only an hour ago.
Then the tears came, they could not stop. There was a void within me, this is
terrible, heart wrenching, I have never felt anything so painful. I will not
see my father again, he is gone. I will not be able to talk to him again, to
see him smile or hear him call me. Who will sit on the verandah and wait for us
to come home. I went through the motions; I wish I had my father again.
Somehow
though, I knew the day was close, as a matter of fact we all know that the day we
die must come. Despite the pain and void, death is inevitable. However, ladies
there is hope, as Christians we have a hope in Christ Jesus. John 14:1-4 tells us “Let not your hearts be troubled.
Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it
were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if
I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to
myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way to where I am
going.” As such,
as long as we follow God’s plan of salvation we
need not worry about our loved ones or even be afraid to die as there is hope
that we will reunite with our loved ones in eternity.
While we live in hope however, let’s live a life full of purpose. Live you’re live like Christ did – live your life for others. Let your life matter to some one, so when you die your legacy will live on. As Shannon Adler once said “Carve your name on hearts, not tombstones. A legacy is etched into the minds of others and the stories they share about you.”

Have a
Blessed Day Ladies
Let’s Pray,
Holy Father, thank you for life.
Thank you for your everlasting love and hope that you have given to us. Lord we
thank you that not even death can separate us from your love and that you have
gone to prepare a place in heaven for us and our loved ones. Today, I pray and
declare that each person reading this devotional will inherit this hope, this
promise that you have given to us. Lord comfort those that are grieving at this
time and help us to live our lives like you did.
In Jesus Name
Amen
