Chosen Instruments

Main Scripture: But the Lord said to Ananias, "Go! This man is my chosen instrument to proclaim my name to the Gentiles and their kings and to the people of Israel. Acts 9:15 (NIV)

A chosen instrument as defined by the Mirriam-Webster Dictionary is a “person or agency favored by an individual, group, or government in furtherance of the latter's own interests;” for example: “a commercial airline sponsored or subsidized by its national government for foreign transport especially in a given part of the world.”

In today’s scripture the Apostle Paul is referred to as a chosen instrument with the responsibility of bringing the Gospel of Christ to the Gentiles and the Jews. Like Paul we are all chosen instruments of God charged with the responsibility of telling other persons about Christ. (Matt 28:18-20)

Some companies are also called chosen instruments. Many governments for example Canada award companies large amount of monies to these companies and they are they are seen by generations of government officials as instruments of the national interest. (Read chosen instruments http://www.hillwatch.com/Publications/Policy_Briefs/Chosen_Instruments.aspx). In he same way we are favoured with unique talents, abilities and experiences for the fulfillment of God’s purpose. Therefore, God may have favoured you with the talent of cooking, not just so you can host parties for your family and friends, but so you can feed others who have no food.

Another feature of a chosen instrument is that the choice is mutual. “Chosen Instruments take government seriously. They owe a substantial portion of their business success and shareholder value to their management of the government factor.  Their expertise with government is used to create a significant competitive advantage for themselves.” Proverbs 18:16 tells us that “A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men.”  As such, as chosen instrument the talents, abilities and experiences that we have been favoured with will cause us to make money and will even make us famous, however like these companies we must add to God’s Kingdom by helping others.

Ladies, what talents, abilities and experiences have God favoured you with? What is your occupation? What do you excel at?

Are you using your talents, abilities and experiences to help other persons?

Ladies there are many ways that we can be God’s helpers in this world, we can make our light shine by doing the same things we excel at to show Christ’s love to others. We can also give to a church or a charity, they specializes in helping others.

Let’s Pray

Lord, thank you for blessing us with individual talents, abilities and experiences. Cause our gifts to make room for us and help us to use them for the furtherance of your Kingdom. We thank you for your blessings.

In Jesus Name

Amen

Have a God Filled Day Ladies
