A boy was asked to wait on his father at an old abandoned pier where ships no longer passed or docked. He turned up half an hour before his dad was scheduled to arrive. An old man who often sat by the pier to pass time saw the boy and questioned why he was there.
The young boy shared that his father had instructed him to wait there. The old man told the boy that he must not have heard his father right. He quickly instructed him to head to the new pier because the ships no longer used the old pier. The little boy would not budge. The old man even told him he was wasting his time.
After half an hour sure enough his father picked him up at the pier. Before the boy boarded the ship he casually told the old man, " see I told you my dad was right, I knew he would come. You see my Dad is the captain." This story teaches us about leadership, confidence and patience.
LEADERSHIP
Who is the captain of your ship? Who determines where you will sail or which pier you will stop? Today you have the power to make your day a productive day, to achieve the results you desire to make a difference by engaging in meaningful activities. Demonstrate leadership today.
PATIENCE
There are some projects that may take long to show the desired results. There are some situations that you desire to be solved, there are some promotions that you know you deserve but be patient your ship will sail by in time.
Good things are worth waiting for. The wait time is an important part of the instruction. It builds perseverance, tolerance, stamina and grit. Rome wasn't built in a day, solid structures are never an overnight success. It takes hard-work perseverance and discipline.
CONFIDENCE
When you are knowledgeable and you have a plan of action be confident. The boy could wait because he knew his father would not let him down. There are those who may not understand your journey or why you wait. You have the required information and best of all you know the sailor. Make today a day in which you express confidence, patience and perseverance. The success you desire will be realized in time.
I wish for you a great day. |
