Extra Work

Main Scripture: A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest—and poverty will come on you like a thief and scarcity like an armed man. Prov 6:10-12

The great Marcus Garvey once said, “heights by great men reached and kept were not attained by sudden flight but they while there companion slept were toiling upwards through the night.”

In order to achieve success in anything we do we have to put in some extra work and lose a little sleep. Whether it means that you are going to stay up late in the nights or wake up early in the morning, you will have to do a little more than you normally do.This can be applied to any aspect, challenge or issue in our lives. We will reap the same result if we continue doing the things the same way. At every level we reach in life things become a little harder so we have to put a little bit more “elbow grease” into it as our mothers would say.

It can be quite irritating at times waking up early especially if you’re not a morning person. However it is said that, successful people wake up 5am in the mornings and that the most productive hours are between 5am to 9am.  done. This includes a good devotion, writing and exercising. Many CEOs start their day 5am in the morning, one article entitled 23 Successful People Who Wake Up Really Early stated that “They are go-getters who want to start the day before their peers and competitors, who want to work long hours and have enough time for their personal lives too.” It is also shown in the Bible where many characters seek God early in the morning hence the practice of having early morning devotions to seek God’s guidance and protection throughout the day.

The point I am trying to bring across is that you have to put some extra work in and lose a little sleep. If your goal is to have a blissful marriage, you have to do more than people with normal marriages do. If your goal is to become a world class parent then you have to spend a lot more time with your children. If your goal is to have a successful business you will have to work harder at getting it done. If your goal is to be at the top of your class, you will have to stay up late and study in order to do well at those exams. If your goal is to remain in God’s will you will have to spend more time reading your bible and praying. If this is not done as the Bible says,” poverty will come on you like a thief and scarcity like an armed man.”
Have A God Filled Day Ladies.

Let’s Pray,

Father, we honour you today in everything we do. We pray that you will give you will give us the will and strength to sleep less so that we can grab a hold of the opportunities of the morning. Lord even today we pray for your guidance and protection and declare that all things will work in our favour today.

In Jesus Name

Amen
