Main Scripture: Two are better than one, because they have a good
return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Also,
if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be
overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three
strands is not quickly broken. Eccl
4:9-12
A story is told of a man who was drowning and
instead of crying out for help so the persons on beach could hear him, he quietly
said “assistance please, assistance please.” No one heard so he drowned.
As women, especially women who are determined to
be successful we often times become too proud to ask for help. However, King
Solomon in his wisdom reminds us today of the benefits of two person working
together instead of working alone. He reminds us that there is strength in
numbers and it easier for us to fail when we work alone.
The Lord has placed people in our lives so that
they can help us. If today you are having a challenge whether it is in your
marriage, at work or even in your spiritual life, don’t be afraid of shouting
for help. The bible tells us further in Proverbs 27:17 “As
iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” It
therefore means then that it is good to ask for help.
Here are some quotes about the benefits of
working together, ponder on these today before you decide that you are going to
deal with your challenges by yourself:

Five guys on the court working together can
achieve more than five talented individuals who come and go as individuals. Kareem

·
I can
promise you that women working together - linked, informed and educated - can
bring peace and prosperity to this forsaken planet. Isabel

·
Every
successful individual knows that his or her achievement depends on a community

Growth is
never by mere chance; it is the result of forces working together. James

Let’s Pray,
Mighty God, thank
you for the persons that you have placed in our lives. Thank you for our
families and friends. Help us to understand that we need each other to be successful
in all that we do. We thank you for everything.
