Main Scripture: ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have
been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things.’
Matt
25:23 (NIV)
Have you
sometimes wondered why you have not received the things that you have been
asking God for? Maybe a promotion, maybe a child, maybe a husband, maybe a new
job, may a position in the church.
Matthew
25:15-23 tells us a parable about a man who entrusted his servants with some
gold until he returned. These men were rewarded according to how they caused
the gold to increase.
One was given
one bag, one was given two bags and one was given five. The ones who were given
two and five bags went and put the money to work and doubled what they had, the
one who was given one bag dug a hole and placed it in the ground. When the master
came back he rewarded the ones who doubled the money but he took the money from
the one with one bag and gave it to the one who originally had five bags.
Moral of the
story is that if you are not faithful over what you are given, you will not be
given more. Consider your job, do you go to work late, do you have a bad
attitude, do you miss your deadlines? Well you will never be considered for a
promotion because you are not dealing very well with the responsibilities you
have been entrusted with.
What about
church, you might have been told that you are called to be an evangelist,
however you never go to bible class, you never get involved in the activities
at church, and further to that you behave so pompous so no one is comfortable
around you, as such the Pastor does not feel like he can entrust with such a responsibility.
Ladies this
morning ponder if you have been handling those things that you have been
entrusted with in an effective and responsible manner. Ask God to teach you and
guide you; also seek help from others around who have trod the same path.
Importantly too is to have the right attitude, remember at all times that “your
attitude determines your altitude”
Have A God
Filled Day Ladies
Let’s Pray,
Lord, thank you for the responsibilities that you have entrusted
us with, teach us to be faithful in all we do, giving it our best at all times.
Help us to manage these things effectively and responsibly so that we will be
entrusted with other things. Lord we give you thanks, honour and glory.
In Jesus Name
Amen
