Song to Meditate On: Trust In The Lord http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RSSW5ef3wNg

Have you ever been in a situation where your back is against the wall and all you want to do is run? You wish you were a bird so you can fly away from your troubles as they seem not to be moving no matter what you try.

This is the situation Jacob was in. He stole his brother Esau’s birthright and now He heard that he was on His way to meet him with 400 men. Jacob taught Esau was coming to kill him, he was terrified. Jacob tried deal with the issue by appeasing his brother with gifts so that he would not kill Him. However no matter what Jacob did, his brother was adamant about coming to see him. Jacob was ready to run.

This is not what God wanted however, he wanted to use the situation to change Jacob as he was always running away from his problems or tried to trick his way out of them. God wanted Jacob to trust him to deal with this one. As such He sent an angel to prevent him from running away. The angel broke contended with him for the whole night and broke his hip so he had no choice but to pray all night. He had to P.U.S.H – Pray Until Something Happened.  After he prayed God brought the change that was necessary for him to overcome his fear and his ways of being a trickster.

Ladies sometimes when obstacles come in our path refuse to move, it is God’s way of showing us that He is able to move them for us and that we should trust him. Sometimes these troubles come to build us, to make us stronger or prepare us for another level in this life. The analogy below sums it up. Sometimes all we are required to do is P.U.S.H.
A man was sleeping at night in his cabin when suddenly his room filled with light and the Savior appeared. The Lord told the man he had work for him to do, and showed him a large rock in front of his cabin. The Lord explained that the man was to push against the rock with all his might.

This the man did, day after day. For many years he toiled from sun up to sun down, his shoulders set squarely against the cold, massive surface of the unmoving rock, pushing it with all his might. Each night the man returned to his cabin sore, and worn out, feeling that his whole day had been spent in vain.

Noticing that the man was showing signs of discouragement, the adversary decided to enter the picture by placing thoughts into the man’s weary mind. “You have been pushing against this rock for a long time, and it hasn’t budged. Why kill yourself over this? You are never going to move it.” Thus giving the man the impression that the task was impossible and that he was a failure. These troubling thoughts discouraged and disheartened the man. “Why kill myself over this?” I’ll just put in my time, giving just the minimum effort and that will be good enough.

And that is what he planned to do until one day he decided to make it a matter of prayer and take his thoughts to the Lord. “Lord” he said, “I have labored long and hard in your service, putting all my strength to do that which you have asked. Yet, after all this time, I have not even been able to budge that rock. What is wrong? Why am I failing?”

The Lord responded compassionately, “My friend, When I asked you to serve me and you accepted, I told you that your task was to push against the rock with all your strength, which you have done. Never once did I mention to you that I expected you to move it. Your task was to push. And now you come to me with your strength spent, thinking that you have failed. But, is that really so?”

“Look at yourself. Your arms are strong and muscled, your back sinewy and brown, your hands are callused from constant pressure, and your legs have become massive and hard. Through opposition you have grown much and your abilities now surpass that which you used to have. Yet you haven’t moved the rock. But your calling was to be obedient and to push and to exercise your faith and trust in my wisdom. This you have done. I, my friend, will now move the rock. Story : Push against the Rock

Ladies do not despise or try to hurry the process God is taking you through, just put your trust in Him and allow Him to perfect you.

Have A God Filled Day Ladies

Let’s Pray,

Oh Lord we thank you for the process, we thank for the lessons that we learn from this particular problem that is in our way. Lord we pray that you will strengthen us direct our path. Increase our faith in you so that we will trust you. Lord sometimes we tend to trust our own heart and understanding but today we will pray and wait on you to remove our obstacles. In you we put trust as we wait on you.

In Jesus Name

Amen
